LIMITLESS | Correctional Center

YEAR: 2013

LOCATION: Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic

DESIGNERS: Néstor Ramos (living quarters) + P. Vidal + S. Martínez + T. Goglio + R. Beato

It consists of redesigning and upgrading an existing jail in Santo Domingo, to incorporate a new prison model, where the inmates have better living conditions and access to academic programs, as well as leisure activities and agricultural production for domestic use and sales to the community. The perception of the complex is of a limitless space, with no visible boundaries, with no obstructions to the views, giving the inmates the possibility to dream about freedom.

This project was developed by a team of 5 people, each person taking charge of the architectural development of one of the blocks (administration health, education, recreation, housing ).
